After nearly four years - note to myself, longest time I ever stayed anywhere except for my birthplace home - we decided to leave Townerville and moved to Changi Village and settle in one of Singapore's Black and White houses. No, we still can't afford the really posh ones. Ours is more like a terraced house and fairly humble. But it comes with views into a tropical garden complete with visits from monkey, hornbills and monitor lizards. The cats now have a veranda for themselves and even bigger geckos to chase and the only downside is the long commute to work. Well, that's still by Singapore standards where anything more than 30 minutes is long. We have been busy at work and this year this meant not only offices in the CBD but also a dive boat when Heike and I guided several times on dive sites in Malaysia and Indonesia. With Pulau Ubin being so close we ventured there more often and explored the quarry lakes by kayak and went snake and frog hunting on a night walk. We were blessed to have a number of visitors and therefore some very good excuses to go back to some favourite places in the 'city', too. Enjoy the photos.
