Georgetown on Pulau Pinang (Penang) is a World Heritage site in Malaysia. Nearly seven years back it was one of our first weekend trips after we relocated to Singapore and this year we finally made it back over a short Christmas break. Good news. Penang is still good, the food is still awesome and while we felt that there were more tourists and more Instagram crowds in front of every mural it still has a relaxed charm. We managed to explore a few new areas for us, completed the next stay in Heikes' Sarkies Brother list (Eastern & Oriental Hotel) and a glorious misty morning on Penang Hill. On the hill we even managed to do another round of urban exploration and we managed to find the abandoned Crag's Hotel, more recently the location for a TV Series called "Indian Summers".  Add the best dinner in ages in the Kebaya Peranakan Restaurant and you have the perfect Christmas gift.
