Maybe some of you have seen the BBC Blue Planet series. There's an episode were they are filming in Fiji, in the Beqa Lagoon on the main island. about 14 years ago a part of the reef was declared protected from fishing and a dive and conservation group was founded. Today you can dive with up to 100 bull sharks in high season at the Shark Reef Marine Reserve. The diving is a well planned adventure with you diving to 30 meters depth to see the magnificent bull sharks up close while they are being fed. There's no cage and the sharks aren't pets so behind you there's always a body guard diver with a pole to push the sharks away when they are getting to close. Having a 3.5 meter bull looking you in the eye before they give you a good wack with their fin is probably the adventure of a lifetime. We also saw Silvertip sharks, black and white tip reef sharks and grey reef sharks, went for some nice wreck diving and saw beautiful coral fans. Add a sunset, a beach bar and nice resort - for how much more can you ask? We'll be back.
